The entire Indian Valley community is invited to visit Souderton Area High School and
- See over 50 cakes decorated by professionals and amateurs who are competing for up to $500 in cash prizes. YOU can vote for your favorite cake and help the decorator win!
- Meet celebrity guests Chef Mauro Castano and his son, Buddy Jr., who are featured on the hit reality TV show on TLC about Carlo’s Bake Shop.
- Meet members from the SASD professional staff.
- Learn about the exceptional teaching happening in classrooms district-wide.
- See examples of selected student work.
- Learn more about how the Education Foundation supports teachers and students in the classroom.
- Participate in a cake auction. Your winning bid is tax deductible (minus the cost of ingredients) and supports innovative teaching and learning in SASD.
- Enter raffles to win prizes. Items secured: Gift package from Carlo’s Bake Shop including an apron, T-shirt, umbrella, and autographed picture of Buddy Valastro; a K’Nex Grandfather Clock educational kit; a collection of Wilton Cake decorating supplies; a handcrafted wooden mantle clock; and a Coby Ultra Compact DVD player.

CASH PRIZES! Over 50 professional and/or amateur cake decorators will display cakes using an EDUCATION theme. Chefs, sugar artists, bakers, caterers, restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, vo-tech schools, evening schools, hobbyists, clubs, and individuals will compete to win cash prizes! Cakes will be entirely edible and will serve a minimum of 30 people. Decorated cakes will be donated for use as auction items and will not be served at this event.

GOING ONCE, GOING TWICE, SOLD! Join the action and friendly competition for delicious cakes. Everyone wins. Top bid wins a wonderful SWEET treat. Teachers and students win by turning their DREAMS of extended learning opportunities into a reality.
Winning bids will be tax-deductible (minus the expense of the cake ingredients).
TAKE A CLOSER LOOK! Teachers from grades K-12 will be on hand to explain what they teach and share displays of student writings, pictures of activities, and results of projects/assignments.
Some displays will showcase how grants awarded by the Souderton Area Education Foundation have been used. The guidance office will be open so guests can tour the new College and Career Center, which has been made possible by a $7,000 grant during the 2010-2011 school year.

- Souderton Area High School Journalism Program, which produces the Arrowhead newspaper
