GPS Scavenger Hunt

A West Broad Street Elementary School classroom received a grant from the Souderton Area Education Foundation for 10 handheld GPS units. The class has been doing several lessons involving problems solving, map skills, latitude and longitude, and mathematics. The students recently went on a GPS scavenger hunt to find different objects around the playground and soccer fields. As they found each item, a clue had to be solved to lead the students to the next object. This activity was done with second graders and parent helpers.
